NVIDIA is anchoring lab-in-the-loop partnerships with Thermo Fisher and Eli Lilly, pulling equipment makers and pharma directly into AI-native discovery infrastructure.
Big pharma is restructuring around this shift rather than resisting it. Novo Nordisk closed its internal cell therapy unit and licensed the program to Cellular Intelligence instead of building it in-house.4 Novo Nordisk shares rallied nearly 25% over 30 days as the move signaled a pivot from vertical integration toward outsourced, AI-accelerated R&D.4
